Red Annihilation was a Quake competitive eSport event, sponsored by Microsoft, held in May 1997. The tournament was held on Mpaths networks with over 2000 participants. The top 16 were flown to Atlanta, Georgia for the final tournament at the World Congress Center during E3 of that year. The one thing that made this tournament so famous, was that the first place finisher would win the car of John Carmack (co-founder of id Software). A Ferrari 328 GTS cabriolet from 1987. The finalists where: Dennis "Thresh" Fong vs Tom "Entropy" Kizmey The map was E1M2 aka "Castle of the Damned" A 20 minute long 1vs1 match. The demo has some bugs, like a lack of a weapon model, weapon bar info, HUD scoreboard and the lag on item pickups. But other then that the demo works and big thanks to the person who converted the spec demo.
