300mm Lens for Bird Photography, Can it Work?

For more exclusive videos that take you behind the scenes and focus on editing techniques in photoshop specifically for wildlife, check out: www.patreon.com/wildlifeinspired In this video, I share 50+ images of birds taken with a focal equivalency of 450mm or less. I use 450mm as the target since most people shooting 300mm lenses would likely be shooting crop sensor bodies. The field of view for Nikon systems with a 300mm lens and "crop" sensor is 450mm equivalency. In this video I use: -D500 (1.5 crop factor) + 300mm as well as -Full from bodies (Z6ii, D4s, D5) paired with 400mm lens or a 300mm lens with a 1.4 teleconverter (420mm) I did not use the full-frame D850 for this video as it is a higher mega-pixel camera. Regarding focal equivalency, the resolution is not relevant to the "field of view," but because the D850 can be cropped to the same size and resolution as a D500, I wanted to leave it out of this video. (Hope that makes sense) I am making a video on this concept of focal equivalency with examples to illustrate the point, coming soon. 00:00 Intro 1:30 Focal Equivalency (quick explanation) 4:30 Lenses shorter than 300mm 7:20 400mm on full-frame body 14:15 420mm on full-frame 19:00 300mm on a crop sensor body 22:45 "kit lens" on a crop body 24:45 closing thoughts
