Due to its increasing popularity, the temple has implemented a "Reservation" system to manage the crowds, ensuring everyone can enjoy their visit comfortably. A Glimpse into the Temple's History The BAPS Swaminarayan Akshardham Mandir is a marvel of architecture and devotion. This grand structure, with impressive height and sprawling dimensions, began construction in 2010 and was officially opened to the public on August 2014. Theatre Experience and Insightful Film Inside the mandir, a theatre showcases a fascinating film about the making of the temple and the life of Bhagwan Swaminarayan. While I couldn't record inside the main mandir, I've included some external clips to give you a sense of its grandeur. Stunning Interior and Intricate Craftsmanship As I stepped inside, I was mesmerized by the temple's beauty. The white marble, sourced from Turkey, Italy, and Rajasthan, is exquisitely finished, reflecting light and enhancing the temple's serene atmosphere. The intricate carvings and detailed craftsmanship are simply breathtaking. The main shrine features 12 additional Hindu deities alongside the primary murti of Swaminarayan Bhagwan, including Radha, Krishna, Shiv, Parvati, Ram, Sita, and more. Perfect Lighting and Ambience The interior is incredibly tall and spacious, with perfect lighting that doubles the temple's beauty. The tranquil and spiritual ambiance inside the mandir offers a peaceful experience for all visitors. Volunteer Management and BAPS Organization What makes this mandir even more special is the dedicated team of volunteers who manage it. These volunteers work for free, driven by their devotion and commitment to the BAPS organization, which has done an incredible job constructing and maintaining this architectural wonder. Architectural Elegance of Reception and Theatre Areas The reception area and theatre are designed in the traditional Haveli style of Gujarat and Rajasthan, adding an extra touch of cultural elegance to the mandir complex.
