Why would you want to get trim on your armor Minecraft? Well, the simple answer is because it looks cool. Adding trim to armor does nothing for gameplay. The only thing it does is make you armor look cool. There are 16 different trims that you can you to armor, and because there are so many colors of armor, you end up with hundreds of millions of different armor configurations for you to choose from. So, without anymore delay, here is how to add trim to your armor in Minecraft! First things first, you will need a smithing table. This is required as it is used to add trim to your armor. You will also need a smithing template. There are 16 of these in-game, and they can be found via exploring different structures. The netherite upgrade template is found in bastions. You can find the coast trim in shipwrecks, the dune trim in desert temples, the eye trim in strongholds, the rib trim in nether fortresses, sentry trim in pillager outposts, the silence trim in ancient cities, the snout trim in bastions, the spire trim in end cities, the vex trim in the woodland mansion, the ward trim in ancient cities, the wild trim in jungle temples, and the wayfinder, shader, host, and raiser armor trims in suspicious gravel in trail ruins. I would recommend duplicate your smithing template before using it just in case you want to add that trim to more armor in the future. This can be done by placing the template in the top center space of a crafting table, putting a block that changes depending on what the template is made out of in the center, and diamonds around the edges. You will then get two templates. Repeat this until you have enough for all of your armor plus an extra that way you don’t have to find the template again and can keep duplicating it. Once you have a smithing table and a smithing templates, get the item that you want to trim your armor with. This can can be emerald, redstone dust, lapis lazuli, amethyst shard, nether quartz, or netherite, diamond, gold, iron, or copper ingots. Next, go to the smithing table, and put the template in the first slot, the armor in the middle slot, and the trim you want to add to the armor in the last slot. When you do, you will get your newly trimmed armor! It’s that easy. You can repeat this for all of your armor. You can also add trim to any kind of armor even leather armor!
