The Strymon Timeline delay came out in 2011 and more than a decade later is still regarded by many as the best delay pedal. You can find thousands of videos featuring the Timeline but curiously I couldn't find a noob-level tutorial that covered the stuff I wanted to know - so I made this one. I go through the Globals menu, front panel operation, common parameters and every delay type. For each delay type I create a "starter" preset. This isn't a beautiful-sounds video, it's all about configuring the machine and understanding all the settings. The only things I don't get into are the looper, expression pedal and MIDI CC. What shines through after only a few minutes use is the beautiful coherance of this machine. It's logical and consistent. It's curious how clones and competitors often fail in that area. The only thing I'm disappointed with is that I bought my Timeline just before the "Midnight Edition" was announced. If I go completely insane and feel compelled to throw money away I might sell this and re-buy - but how stupid would that be? Finally, if you're listening through headphones you may hear a little street traffic noise from time to time. Apologies.
