Take a tour of the Delaware Botanic Gardens, a recently opened (September 2019) 37-acre naturalistic botanic garden focused on environmental stewardship and education. Brian Trader, Director of Horticulture, guides viewers and explains the design, plants used, and the garden's environmental approach. Viewers will experience its meadow, designed by Piet Oudolf and featuring over 70,000 plants, primarily native. The 12-acre hardwood forest is also featured along with plants for the seashore. Learn about perennials, shrubs, and trees that grow in these habitats as the butterflies, bees, and other pollinators nectar in the meadow.
