Myrtle Beach is a popular destination. Our timing was perfect for Myrtle Beach State Park camping in South Carolina because it was October, so dogs were allowed on the beach & there were Halloween festivities close by. This is one of the advantages of traveling full time in an RV. A couple "cons" is that planes fly very low over beach and campground- even at 4 am. Plus, of course, weekends are very loud. Overflow campsites = tent camping & have access to central water (no elec.). Complimentary wi-fi, laundry, hot showers, dump station, shop in campground; 1 fishing pier w/ shop; 6 rental cabins built by the CCC in the 1930s; 2 trails (Sculptured Oak .5 & Youpon .4) Campers arriving after 9:30 p.m. contact ranger station for gate code. Pets & bikes are not allowed on the beaches from 10am until 5pm (7 days a week) May 1 - Labor Day.
