On Wednesday, January 5 at 7 p.m. the Hudson Library & Historical Society will host a live virtual streaming event with actress Lana Wood, author of Little Sister: My Investigation into the Mysterious Death of Natalie Wood. In her book, Wood, the younger sister of iconic actress Natalie Wood, explores the mysterious November 1981 drowning of her sister. On the night of November 29, 1981, Natalie Wood disappeared from her yacht, the Splendour, while visiting Catalina Island with her husband, Robert “R.J.” Wagner and their friend, Christopher Walken. The beloved movie star’s tragic drowning shook America. What was originally believed to be an open-and-shut case of accidental drowning has been called into question over the years. By elucidating previously unknown complications of Natalie’s life and offering new evidence from key parties involved in the investigation, Little Sister recounts Lana’s search for the truth and brings to light explosive details that have been suppressed for decades. Lana Wood started her acting career in John Ford’s classic The Searchers in 1956 as a younger version of her sister’s character. She later earned a contract with Twentieth Century-Fox and is perhaps best known for playing Sandy Webber on the TV series Peyton Place and Plenty O'Toole in the James Bond film Diamonds Are Forever.
