Fishing With MICRO TEXAS RIG For Bass & Bluegill!

After my recent ultralight bluegill fishing video, I still had some time on the water and I wanted to mix things up, so I decided to test out a rig I haven't fished with before on ultralight. I had rigged up a micro Texas Rig on one of my ultralight setups and felt this was a good opportunity to build up confidence and determine how I like it. Overall, I felt that the Micro Texas Rig is a great option for light line anglers looking to pull small baits through cover. I was able to land both bass and bluegill on this rig so I trust that the size 4 EWG hook I was using will work well for multispecies. My main callouts are rod action and drag settings... When running an ultralight, it will be important that you have a fast action rod to ensure you can drive the hook home on this rig. On top of that, you will need to be extra careful with your drag power. If you go too light on drag, the hook probably won't penetrate. If you go too tight, you may snap your line... Ultimately, you will need to find the "sweet spot" where you can bury the hook but not overdo it.
