Instrument Landing System, or better known as ILS, are very similar but one is ground based and one is satellite based but look almost identical. LNAV, or lateral navigation provide guidance along a course, but add vertical navigation (VNAV) and vertical guidance can be given to achieve lower minimums (most of the time). LPV approaches mimic and ILS approach with the pseudo localizer gaining sensitivity as the aircraft approaches the runway.
