Évian-les-Bains is a town in eastern France on the shores of Lake Geneva. Population is about 9‘100. Évian-les-Bains is famous for the mineral water springs and for the water front promenade. On the other side of the Lake Geneva you can see Switzerland. The Casino was built in 1911 in Neo-Byzantine style. The Lumière family from Lyon has built a villa in Évian. From 1927 it is the City Hall (Hôtel de Ville). The Palais Lumière is used as an art gallery. The Buvette Cachat is a famous spa-resort building. Not far away is the Cachat spring. In the old town you can find many shops and restaurants. Les Thermes d’Évian are near the lake Geneva. Tourist office is at Place de la Porte d’Allinges. You can find some expencive four and five stars hotels in Évian-les-Bains. There is a passenger ferry boat to Lausanne in Switzerland.
