HOW TO CHOOSE YOUR COFFEE BEANS ?

Choosing the right coffee can sometimes be a complicated task. Alexia has put together some tips to help you find THE coffee bean that's right for you. When choosing your coffee bean, we recommend that you pay attention to 2 criteria: the intensity of roasting and the coffee's aromatic family. But what exactly do these mean? Don't panic, we'll explain it all to you! 👉 Roasting intensity This is more commonly known as the roasting colour. Depending on the roast colour of your coffee, the result in the cup will be completely different. A light-roast coffee (i.e. only lightly roasted) will give you a cup with lots of acidity and liveliness. This is what we recommend you use if you like filter coffee (V60, Chemex, etc.). On the other hand, a dark or very dark roast coffee will give you an intense cup with a strong bitterness. If you like strong, intense Italian coffees, this is the roast for you! There is also a medium roast, halfway between the light and dark roasts. This gives you a coffee with a good balance between acidity and bitterness. 👉 Aromatic families The aromatic family groups together all the tasting notes in your cup (hazelnut, chocolate, peach, white flower, for example). Each coffee is accompanied by 2 aromatic families: the dominant aromatic family (the most noticeable notes) and the secondary aromatic family (the most subtle notes). ❓ But how do you know which aromatic family you prefer? There's no secret: you have to try it! To do this, go to our website : https://fcld.ly/all-coffee-beans and use the filters to choose aromatic notes. Alexia shares some additional tips on how to read your coffee pack! 👉 Arabica or Robusta? Arabica is known for being sweeter and offering better aromas than Robusta, which offers more bitterness and intensity. Find all our 100% Arabica coffees here: https://fcld.ly/coffee-beans_arabica All our 100% Robusta coffees: https://fcld.ly/coffee-beans_arabica-... And our Arabica / Robusta blends: https://fcld.ly/coffee-beans_blend 👉 Blend or Pure Origin? The term "blend" is used to represent a mixture of several coffees. Find all our blended coffees here: https://fcld.ly/coffee-beans_blend In contrast, a pure origin coffee comes from a single terroir. You can find all our pure origin coffees here: https://fcld.ly/coffee-beans_pure-origin 👉 Freshly roasted coffee Once roasted, coffee beans gradually lose their taste and smell qualities. We therefore advise you to choose a coffee that announces the roasting date and to drink it between 2 weeks and 2 months after roasting. Now that you have all this information, all you have to do is use the filters on the site to choose your coffee!
