In this audio we're both getting ready for bed. I've brushed my teeth, changed into my pyjamas and I have my glass of water. We're all ready for bed. I speak to you gently, softly and with affection and good humour, though there's no particular relationship implied: it could be a partner, a friend, a parent or anyone else. We're just going to sleep and snuggling up together. I say that we're safe, that you're going to look after me and I'm going to look after you. I'll keep away any nightmares or bad dreams. We lay our heads down onto our pillows and close our eyes. There's no rush, no pressure or expectation, no deadlines. We can just drift off to sleep in our own time, letting sleep come naturally. I yawn a little and then just start breathing quietly, taking long and slow deep breaths as I gradually fall asleep. The audio goes on for an extended period of time with little else but the sounds of my breathing and some occasional quiet murmurs of contentment. Hopefully it'll help soothe you into a good rhythm, making you feel safe and comfortable and able to drift off to sleep yourself.
