We finally made it to Strydenburg, a town we have always missed on our travels, but this time we made sure to explore it. We arrived in the evening and rested well so we could fully enjoy the town the next day. Driving through the town was a truly peaceful and authentic experience. The old houses we saw were absolutely beautiful and we spent some time just driving through the streets, taking in the sights and sounds of this charming little town. Unfortunately, we did notice that the showgrounds and the High School had been destroyed, which was very sad to see. As I walked through these old structures, I could really feel the history that they held within their walls. It was a surreal experience to imagine all the stories that these buildings could tell if only they could speak.
