In 2018 he saw a similar car, which reminded him of his high school ride, so he started searching the web for Bubble Top Impalas. Jim found this 1961 Chevy Impala Bubble Top in Boston, where he was going in couple of days to visit his family. It was destiny. The car had a 348, and although Jim was not planing to make any significant upgrades, two years later he saw a 409 Dual Quad engine for sale. It was a great deal, so Jim bought the Dual Quad 409, and during the engine swap process, he decided to go for a full 1961 Chevy Impala SS tribute. His Bubble Top has tons of upgrades, and while it is not a real SS, it won multiple trophies at variety of car shows Jim attended.
