2-D Vector Position & Velocity in Physics (Projectile Motion) - [1-4-1]

More Lessons: http://www.MathAndScience.com Twitter:   / jasongibsonmath   In this lesson, you will learn how to handle position and velocity in 2D space and 3D space in physics. We define the position vector which is a vector from the origin to the current position of the particle in motion. Then, we define the average velocity of the particle as the rate of change of the position vector divided by the time interval. The instantaneous velocity is the limit of the rate of change of position with respect to time as we let the time interval approach zero. We show all of this and also discuss velocity x and y components and how to calculate the motion as the superposition of the x-motion and the y-motion. In terms of calculus, we say that the velocity of a particle at a point is its time derivative of the position of the particle.
