In the coastal regions of Bangladesh, women like Sondha Mondal face relentless natural disasters caused by climate change. Despite losing everything during natural disasters, their resilience and hope remain unbroken as they strive to rebuild their lives. As the warnings come through radio and TV, families, clutching their children and essential belongings, seek shelter on higher ground. Often, they take shelter on the embankments, sometimes swallowed by unforgiving tides. Despite these hardships, hope never fades. Sondha Mandal, a symbol of resilience, is happy now that with the financial support of Diakonie Katastrophenhilfe (DKH), in cooperation with the Christian Commission for Development in Bangladesh (CCDB) and Novoloc (NGO in Khulna), a shelter center has been built for their community. Now, this shelter center will protect them during future irregular natural disasters and reduce their losses.
