Frogger (1981) Versions Comparison|PORTS THAT WILL SHOCK U 👀😲|HD|60FPS

This video features gameplay from various ports of Frogger, which is listed as one of the greatest arcade games of all time (and to think that Sega was actually skeptical about it's success in North America) Sequels of the game are not included. The original 1981 arcade version joined the Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 Arcade Archives on December 12, 2019 (I have not included them here) Please leave a 👍 if you enjoy the video and subscribe to my channel. Check Time Stamps for more details about some systems and versions, due to limited characters, not all will be explained. In North America, it was released by Sega/Gremlin. The object of the game is to direct frogs to their homes one by one by crossing a busy road and navigating a river full of hazards. 00:38 Atari 2600 (Parker Brothers) Parker Brothers received the license from Sega for cartridge versions and produced cartridge ports of Frogger for the Atari 2600, Intellivision, Atari 5200, ColecoVision, Atari 8-bit family, TI-99/4A, VIC-20, and Commodore 64. Parker Brothers spent $10 million on advertising Frogger. The Atari 2600 port was programmed by Ed English 01:18 Atari 2600 (SEGA) 02:35 VIC-20 (Parker Brothers) 03:15 Commodore 64/C64 03:54 ColecoVision 04:33 Coleco Table Top 05:12 Intellivision 05:51 IBM PC 06:30 Apple-II 07:09 MSX 07:48 TRS-80 The TRS-80 Micro Computer System (TRS-80, later renamed the Model I to distinguish it from successors) is a desktop microcomputer launched in 1977 and sold by Tandy Corporation through their Radio Shack stores. The name is an abbreviation of Tandy Radio Shack, Z80 [microprocessor]. It is one of the earliest mass-produced and mass-marketed retail home computers. 08:27 Dragon 32/TRS-80 Color Computer The RadioShack TRS-80 Color Computer, later marketed as the Tandy Color Computer and sometimes nicknamed the CoCo, is a line of home computers developed and sold by Tandy Corporation. Despite sharing a name with the earlier TRS-80, the Color Computer is a completely different, incompatible system. The Dragon 32 and Dragon 64 are home computers that were built in the 1980s. The Dragons are very similar to the TRS-80 Color Computer, and were produced for the European market by Dragon Data, Ltd. 09:06 Timex Sinclair 1000 This is one of the strangest 😱 ports of any game you will ever see, there was no sound as well, I have added the music in the background. The Timex Sinclair 1000 (TS1000) was the first computer produced by Timex Sinclair, a joint venture between Timex Corporation and Sinclair Research. It was launched in July 1982, with a US sales price of US$99.95, making it the cheapest home computer at the time; it was advertised as "the first computer under $100" 09:34 Timex Sinclair 2068 The Timex Sinclair 2068 (TS2068), released in November 1983, was Timex Sinclair's third and last home computer for the United States market. It was also marketed in Canada, Argentina, Portugal and Poland, as the Timex Computer 2068. 10:14 TI-99/4A Texas Instruments 10:52 Magnavox Odyssey 2 11:32 Game Boy 12:10 Game Boy Color/Super Game Boy 12:49 Game Boy Advance (Konami Arcade classics) 13:29 Super Nintendo In 1998, Hasbro released a series of ports of the original game for the Sega Genesis, Super NES, Game com, Game Boy, and Game Boy Color. Each port featured the game with different graphics, with the Sega Genesis port featuring the same graphics of the original arcade game. 14:06 Mega Drive/Genesis 14:40 Ps One 15:20 Ps3/XBox 360/Wii (Hyper Arcade Edition) 15:59 Bonus: Frogger-Clone on BBC Micro There are so many clones of Frogger that I will have to make a separate video on those, these are just a few examples. 16:39 Bonus: Hooper-Clone on BBC Micro 17:07 Bonus: Ribbit-Clone on Apple-II 17:39 Bonus: Frogger on Sega Game Gear(Cancelled Game) 18:57 Bonus: Catchy tune isn't it? Fun Fact: The game's opening tune is the first verse of a Japanese children's song called "Inu No Omawarisan" ("The Dog Policeman"). Other Japanese tunes that are played during gameplay include the themes to the anime series Hana no Ko Lunlun and Rascal the Raccoon. The American release kept the opening song intact and added "Yankee Doodle." Which is your favorite version? Type in the comments. Like-Share-Subscribe 🙏
