Founding President of the Republic of Namibia and Father of the Namibian nation attended the State Funeral of Angola’s former president José Eduardo dos Santos to pay his final respect. Also in attendance was Hon. Frans Kapofi, Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs (Representing the government) and H.E Amb. Patrick Nandago, Namibian Ambassador to Angola. The funeral Service was held at the Republic Square, Dr António Agostinho Neto Memorial, in the capital Luanda on Sunday, 28th August 2022. In his message of condolences Nujoma stressed that Former President José Eduardo dos Santos stood firm and never wavered in his support for the people of Namibia and the region when he took over as President of the Republic of Angola. The funeral was attended by thousands of Angolans and several Heads of States and former presidents from countries such South Africa, Zimbabwe, Congo Brazaville, DRC Congo, Namibia, Mozambique and Portugal.
