Australia's new Governor-General Sam Mostyn was sworn in at Parliament House this week however it was the former lawyer and business leader's proposed salary raising questions. The salary increase of more than $200,000 has been justified by Labor on the grounds Ms Mostyn does not benefit from any military pension. Sky News hosts Danica De Giorgio and James Macpherson are joined by a panel to discuss whether or not $700,000 or so for a Governor-General represents the value of Australian taxpayer dollars. “It’s not right, especially in the middle of a cost of living crisis it’s a shocking look,” De Giorgio said.
