There is still quite a long way to go but at least the first note can be heard at 3:20 . I still don't know why some of the notes sounds like they are played underwater but on the original wave file everything was fine. When I did my VOX-inspired organ    • Organ keyers for the polyphonic tone ...   I simply used AND gates to switch the tones on and off. However, if I want the tones to sound string-like they need to turn on and off more gradually. This is where the envelope system comes in. Since I have to make one for each key (!) it would be quite a task to make a complete ADSR envelope generator for each of the 24 keys I have planned to use on the finished instrument. So I am going for a more simple solution: A gate and diode based system where I can choose between three attacks - Piano, Organ, and String, and three sustains ('release' if you are a synth person) - slow, medium, and fast. But even though I went for 'simplicity' the envelope system still filled two big proto boards! The VCAs are included in the envelope system and are made the way they would be done in a typical 1970's organ. They are really not VCAs as such but more like a diode-based clipper, but since the sound sources are square waves they are not distorted by being clipped. The music is something I put together on my Wersi Prisma DX-5 organ, I don't know what I was trying to achieve but now it's done so I might as well use it.
