McLaren F1 GTR Longtail Accelerations, Downshifts & Legendary BMW V12 Sound!

These two fantastic McLaren F1 GTRs were at the 2022 Goodwood Festival of Speed both for McLaren F1's 30th anniversary and BMW M Motorsport 50th anniversary celebrations. The two cars are chassis 23R, one of the BMW Schnitzer Team featuring the iconic FINA livery, and chassis 28R, the ex-Gulf Team Davidoff. Only 10 examples were built in these ''Longtail'' specs. The GTR Longtail was powered by an extensive modified BMW S70 V12 engine that was de-stroked from the 'original' 6,064 cc down to 5,990 cubic centimetres in an attempt to prolong the life of the engines. The max power remained the same at 600hp (but with air restrictors). Compared to the GTR 'Short Tail' the Lontgail was almost 100kg lighter (915 kg vs 1,012 kg) and the standard manual gearbox was replaced with a new X-trac 6-speed sequential transmission.
