The Strategizing Brain: Colin Camerer at TEDxCaltech

Colin Camerer is the Robert Kirby Professor of Behavioral Economics at Caltech. He earned a Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1981 and worked at Northwestern, Penn, and Chicago before Caltech. He has published more than 150 articles worked on four books, most notably Behavioral Game Theory (2003). Colin's research group is interested in the psychological and neural basis of choice, strategizing in games, and trading in markets. His group uses many methods, including eye tracking, SCR, fMRI, EEG, TMS, field experiments, and analysis of field data on taxicabs, sports performance, and movie revenues. Colin has been the past president of the Economic Science (experimental economics), the Society for Neuroeconomics, and was elected a Fellow of the Econometric Society. In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)
