Ringo Starr released "Pure Gold" in 1976 on his album, Ringo's Rotogravure. This is definitely one Ringo's more solid album releases, and is actually my very favorite Ringo album. It had typical support from some of Ringo's superstar friends, mainly John Lennon (his last studio recording for 4 years until Double Fantasy), Paul McCartney (who wrote the song....and who with his wife Linda, does background vocals on it), George Harrison, and Eric Clapton. And while Ringo's solo albums might not have been as great or acclaimed as those of his former bandmates, there was always some fun to be had with them and he always seemed to be having a great time....I bought each and every one at release.
