The Down Side of Being A Physician Assistant

Peace be to you (AsSalama'laikum) all! I have been a medically licensed Physician Assistant for almost 16 years. I was asked to discuss this topic. I honestly can't accurately compare being a Physician Assistant to being a Doctor, because I haven't been an MD or DO. I only have three "cons" that I could consider: less money, less prestige, less autonomy, less knowledge (than the MD/DO). However the "pro" to this is: less student loan debt, less accountability, more time to engage in other aspects of one's life. PA vs MD/DO is a VERY personalized decision. I am a VERY dedicated family man. And have a great passion foe community service. I am also a fitness, science, and education enthusiast. Being a PA has allowed me to pursue these interest. I hope my circuitous answer helps some people make decisions about their academic choices and careers! I have REALLY enjoyed being a Physician Assistant for all these years!
