DURHAM, N.C. – A number of former Duke women's soccer stars are on the grind in the professional ranks in the National Women's Soccer League. Ella Stevens is set to begin her first season in the NWSL as a member of the Chicago Red Stars. Stevens, the 24th overall pick in this year's National Women's Soccer League College Draft, became the first Blue Devil to be drafted by the Red Stars in program history. With her selection, Duke has had 14 all-time selections in the NWSL Draft, and at least one pick in the last five drafts. Stevens proved to be an offensive catalyst for Duke this season, earning All-Region honors for the third time in her career. The Grayson, Ga., native was also named to the All-ACC Second Team earlier this season, marking the fourth year receiving conference honors. This season, she tied for the team lead in points with 22, while tying for second in goals scored with eight. Her 82 career points place her sixth all-time in Duke history, while she ranks amongst the top five in program history in career goals scored (24) and career assists (34).
