Una de las actividades más características de CESVIMAP son nuestros Crash Test. Turismos, vehículos industriales y motocicletas se someten a diferentes ensayos normalizados, la mayoría según los estándares RCAR (Reseach Council for Automobile Repair). RCAR, del que CESVIMAP es miembro, aglutina a los más importantes centros de investigación del automóvil a nivel mundial. El crash test delantero simula un impacto a velocidad moderada (entre 15 y 16 km/h), sobre el 40% de la parte frontal izquierda. El vehículo colisiona contra un bloque indeformable de hormigón de 35 toneladas (girado 10°, en sentido antihorario, respecto del eje longitudinal del vehículo). El ensayo trasero reproduce el efecto que tendría un impacto sobre la parte posterior de un vehículo. Una barrera móvil alcanza al móvil objeto de estudio a una velocidad entre 15 y 16 km/h, sobre el 40% de su parte trasera derecha, con el vehículo girado 10°, en sentido antihorario, respecto de su eje longitudinal.
