Baby Zenek was born with Waardenburg's Syndrome Type 2a, which caused him to be profoundly deaf. See him hear for the first time with his first cochlear implant at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Only his right side was done. He was 12 months old. He didn't have his normal nap in the morning. By his appointment in the afternoon, he was tired, grumpy, and in no mood for new experiences. It wasn't pretty. But, given a break, he adjusted quickly.
