Contact Ferrer Ferran: [email protected] ----------------------------- Miguel Rodrigo Plasencia es una persona que ha dedicado toda su vida a la música y a su familia, siendo profesor de la Banda Municipal de Valencia durante 47 años, y compaginando su labor además, como director de orquesta y banda y profesor en diversas escuelas y conservatorios, donde ha formado a innumerables, hoy ya, solistas y grandes intérpretes de Trompa. “Rodrigo el Trompa” es una obertura en forma de pasodoble, para cuatro trompas y orquesta de viento, donde el autor quiere homenajear a dicha persona utilizando para la composición, los fragmentos más emblemáticos escritos para la Trompa. El concierto nº 1 de Richard Strauss para trompa y orquesta, así como los poemas sinfónicos, “Las Travesuras de Till Eulenspiegel” o “Don Juan”, todas del dicho compositor alemán, serán transfiguradas y a ritmo de pasodoble en esta obertura llena de color, con un profundo romanticismo, y con dosis de ternura y delicadeza combinadas con la majestuosidad que la trompa nos brinda. Encargo de sus hijos Miquel, Santiago y Carles Albert a Miguel Rodrigo Plasencia, “Rodrigo el Trompa”, Profesor de la Banda Municipal de Valencia entre los años 1951 y 1998, por toda su excelente labor pedagógica, profesional y humana ejercida durante toda una vida por el bien de la música, viendo y transmitiendo a través de ella, todo aquello que está tanto dentro como “detrás” de la misma. Esta composición se estrenó el día 4 de febrero de 2018 en la “sala Mozart” del Auditorio de Zaragoza por la banda sinfónica del conservatorio superior de música de Aragón bajo la dirección del autor. --------------- Miquel Rodrigo Plasencia is a person who has devoted all his life to music and to his family, being professor of the Municipal Band of Valencia for 47 years and combining his work, besides, as a conductor for orchestra and band and as a professor at various schools and conservatories, where have been trained today countless soloists and great Horn players. “Rodrigo el Trompa” is an overture in pasodoble, for four horns and wind orchestra, where the author wants to pay homage to that person using for the composition, the most emblematic written fragments for Horn. The concert nº 1 by Richard Strauss for horn and orchestra, as well as the symphonic poems, “Las Travesuras de Till Eulenspiegel” or “Don Juan”, all these by the same German composer, will be transformed in this colorful overture to the rhythm of pasodoble, with a deep romanticism, and dosis of tenderness and sensitivity blended with the majesty provided by the horn. Commissioned by his sons Miquel, Santiago and Carles Albert to Miguel Rodrigo Plasencia, “Rodrigo el Trompa”, Professor of the Municipal Band of Valencia from 1951 and 1998, for his excellent pedagogical, professional and human work developed throughout life for the sake of music, seeing and transmitting through it, all that is both within and “behind” of it. This composition was premiered on February 4th, 2018 at the “sala Mozart” in the Zaragoza Auditorium by the Superior Conservatory Symphonic Band of Aragon, being conducted by the author.
