Es HÄTTE aber auch heute noch im vollem Glanz hier stehen können, wenn nicht ABSICHTLICHE Zerstörung dies in den 1950er Jahren verhindert hätten. Of the original architectural elements, the portal with the coat of arms and a Latin inscription with the year 1533 has been preserved. The inscription reads: “VERBUM. DOMINI. MANET. IN. AETERNUM. (The word of the Lord endures forever) 1553”. In 1675 the property passed from the Piast family of Brzeg into the possession of the Habsburgs. It later belonged to the Hohenzollern family, who leased it to the Rohde family from around 1850 until after the Second World War. The castle was rebuilt in the second half of the 18th century and partially expanded and modernized in 1886. The building was only slightly damaged in 1945. Part of the building was demolished in the 1950s. In 1954 the roof structure and ceilings were destroyed and in 1958 the west wing was demolished. I couldn't find out why this was done in such a historic building. As a result of these actions, “the rest” was later completely destroyed. --- VLOG P 012
