There’s loads of popular Hungarian food to taste at this market, but we wanted to try the beef goulash to warm us up on this chilly day. Not too far is the Advent Feast at the Basilica, another European Christmas market full of shopping, food, and mulled wine. In terms of Christmas markets in Europe, the ones in Budapest are huge and beautiful to explore, lit up in the main squares of the city. The Christmas street food that you find at the markets is, however, catered to tourists quite a bit, so we headed to a local Christmas market in Budapest to see the differences. Here at our last Christmas market, we tasted the ultimate Hungarian street food, lángos. Not just a Christmas street food, but one loved by locals all year round, this garlicky, sour cream and cheese covered fried dough of langos really did it for us and finished off our Christmas street food tour perfectly.
