Kevin Robertson was born in East London, South Africa, in 1956. He was educated at Selborne College and qualified as a veterinarian from Ondestepoort Veterinary Institute (part of the University of Pretoria in South Africa) in 1981. Kevin obtained his Zimbabwe professional hunters license in 1991 and soon became involved with the training of that country's learner professional hunters and guides. The idea of producing a set of anatomical diagrams to assist with correct shot placement was born from the game- animal dissections he conducted during these times for teaching purposes. Kevin has combined his interests in veterinary medicine, firearms, practical ballistics, and bullet performance with his love of Africa's wildlife and its conservation to produce his bestsellers, Nyati, Africa's Most Dangerous, and now this totally revised edition of his original and most successful work, The Perfect Shot. He is also the author of It Shouldn't Happen, a humorous look at safari life. Kevin is married to Catherine Phillips, an award-winning wildlife photographer; it is her photographs that appear throughout all of Kevin's books. The Robertsons now live in Namibia where Kevin is involved with the breeding of rare antelope species and the management of game and cattle ranches.
