Fort Tiracol, sometimes known as Terekhol Fort, is a fort in Goa, built by Maharaja Khem Sawant Bhonsle, the Raja of Sawantwadi. Fort Tiracol was a symbolic location where freedom fighters from Goa demonstrated from time to time. A Church for the Holy Trinity was constructed in the fort courtyard after it was captured by the Portuguese. Fort Tiracol Heritage Hotel. Once an armed fortress that belonged to the Portuguese, Fort Tiracol is now content to spend the rest of its days on a cliff enjoying the kaleidoscopic view of the Arabian Sea and the spectacular estuary of the Tiracol River. It exists in its own space and time on the northern most tip of Goa. Pretty rooms to beautiful bathrooms and breathtaking views. What more does anybody want to relax?
