Guitarists substitute this rhythm guitar technique if strumming open-position major chords like E, A, and D sounds too jangly, boomy and "big." Blues and blues-related guitar styles employ The Shuffle Pattern frequently. Come Together by The Beatles is a great example of the D shuffle and the A Shuffle.
