Both Tacvent and Maxx-Dri vest are equipment designed to aid law enforcement officers in keeping cool under their body armor. Here is a comprehensive comparison of them, and my opinion on which is more effective. The original purpose of this video is to give LEOs a side by side comparison of these two products and said comments took away from that. To expand on the details behind this video and comments/concerns that have been voiced {sorry, its a long read}: I purchased my personal TacVent in July of 2015. It was not given to me. At that time my decision to purchase the TV over the MD was strictly due to cost. I had been looking for ways to alleviate high temps under my body armor, and back then our financial resources were a lot more limited. After using TV for about two years, I found that it worked very effectively; however, there is a coworker/friend of mine that uses MD and swears by it. I decided to give it a try to see if it worked for me, as well as it did for him. I purchased my MD in August of 2017 via Amazon and wore it exclusively for about 7 months. I did not do so with the intention of writing a review. I just purchased it to see if it worked better for me. Again, I purchased BOTH products. I did not receive EITHER ONE for free for purpose of this review. I made this video because I had not seen a video review comparing the two products, and hoped to help other LEOs based on my experiences using both of them long term. At the time of making this video, I did not see any temperature comparison videos (with/ without MD) on the website (maybe I am just missing them). In the years since my initial TacVent purchase, I have developed a relationship with Jeff, the owner of TacVent. He HAS sent us TacVents for promotional use (i.e. giveaways) and vice versa. We do have relationships with several other LEO owned small businesses and this is something that we do regularly and LOVE to do. We promote each other because we believe in the products and people behind the products, and we love to give back to our first responder community. Not because we are compensated to do so. [I will say that I didn't tell Jeff about purchasing and wearing the MD until I created this video. Honestly, I'm not sure that he is even aware that I wore a "competing product" exclusively for 7 months...] Mr. Suresh Madhavan, CEO of 221B Tactical, did contact me after posting this video and expressed his support for The Mic Loop/ no hard feelings. We greatly appreciate the support from 221B family. As I've stated before, this video is my personal honest opinion, and it is what works for me. To each their own. As a LEO I think it is important to find something that works for the individual and their situation. Whether that is TV, MD, or some other product. We say the same with our product as well. We know that it is not for everyone. Do we think its the best? Of course. :) But, not every LEO feels that way. **If you are a LEO that landed on this YouTube review because you're on the fence, I hope this video will help you decide what works best for you.
