Dr. Lonecloud was born in 1854 into a Mi'kmaw family of herbalists who traveled through British North America and the northeastern United States, making and selling remedies. He also traveled with Buffalo Bill Cody's Wild West Show and had an interest in the Kiowa Medicine Show. Healing and Bigelow's Wild West Show ran and had an interest in the Kiowa Medicine Show. Healing and Bigelow's Wild West Show recreated him to return to the States early in the 1880s. On December 6, 1917, during the Halifax explosion, Lonecloud and his family were living on the shores of the Halifax Harbour at Tufts Cove. The catastrophe killed two of his daughters.
