Gala Day at Disneyland (1959)

No copyright infringement is intended with this, or any other video I upload. The purpose of uploading this video is for the viewing pleasure for those that watch it. This is a special newsreel feature called "Gala Day at Disneyland". In 1959, Disneyland conducted threee major openings in Tomorrowland, all three of which also border Fantasyland. One is the Matterhorn, the first man-made mountain in the world, which was built to scale with all the features of the original in Switzerland. Another is the Disneyland Monorail, which was the first of it's kind in America, and the third was the Journey Into Liquid Space, the original submarine ride at Disneyland. The feature begins by showing a multi-national parade down Main Street, USA, with many nations all around the world represented. Then, we head underwater with an undersea journey aboard one of the submarines as we take a journey into the wonders of the undersea world. After that, Walt Disney and Richard Nixon, Vice President at the time, conducting the ceremony to open business for the Disneyland Monorail. However, there are problems with the ribbon-cutting, so Walt Disney tears the ribbon. After that, we head to the Matterhorn for the grand opening there, and witness some mountain climbing and skating. As always, a festive event at Disneyland ends with a fireworks spectacular, and this one was fitting of the occasion of the biggest day for Disneyland since the grand opening in 1955. All rights and credits go to the Walt Disney Company and those that created the video and the audio for the presentation, including the music used in the program. That includes the Disney Channel, where the presentation aired more than a decade ago in it's overnight "Vault Disney" block. If there are any others who I'm forgetting, please let me know so I can add them to the list of those to credit. There's a possibility that this video wil either be taken down, not allowed up, or I'll be asked to take it down. If I'm asked to take it down, I will.
