Can We Turn An Atari 2600 Into A Real Computer

Despite having the word as part of its name, we don’t typically consider an Atari VCS to be an actual computer. In this episode we’re going to look at some of the ways that a few companies, including Atari, tried to turn this iconic game console into a full-fledged computer. Operation 8-Bit is a grass-roots not for profit group that helps to support charities like the Tour De Force 9/11 Memorial Bike Ride and the Armed Services YMCA (ASYMCA) by raising funds through the restoration and resale of classic computers and video games. We are supported by donations from people just like you, and these donations can make an amazing difference to helping the organizations and families we support. If you have an old Xbox, PlayStation, or Nintendo that you (or your kids) never use anymore, or if there is an old computer just gathering dust in your attic or in the back of a closet that you would like to donate, please let us know by visiting our website.
