Kitchen Remodel Part 12 – Quartz Backsplash Installed

In this Part 12 video, our quartz kitchen countertops are measured for the backsplashes by a templating specialist from FloForm Countertops, who inputs multiple points using a corded pen-like sensor at random distances, which are instantly digitally recorded. One week later, a two-man crew from FloForm Countertops install all the backsplash pieces, the same quartz material as the countertops, but machined down to a thinner 2 centimeters in thickness. The quartz countertop, which is manufactured in Spain, is Silestone, and the color is Lusso: https://floform.com/products/lusso. During the installation process, it was discovered that the small cabinet on the right side of the range was significantly lower than the right site of the countertops. So, I called Tony, the owner of Tim’s Custom Cabinets and insisted that he send someone out to adjust the height of this small cabinet. Minutes later, Chris appeared. Chris put an impressive amount of time and energy to adjust this small cabinet to match the height of the countertops during the chaos, both contractors working together to get this done properly. After three times of removing and adjusting the height of the cabinet using shims, Chris got it leveled. How cool is that! As I watched my final edits to this video, I found the craftsmanship, enthusiasm, and commitment to do a professional job to be both educational and entertaining. The bottom line: Diane and I are very pleased with the results! Background: Having spent four years of our retirement in a small ranch style house built in 1978, we were ready to remodel the worn-out farm style kitchen. But the timing was bad. We were in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, and most contractors in the area were overbooked and unavailable, even for an estimate. Then one day as we again passed by Tim’s Custom Cabinets, located at a new round-about in a residential area, we stopped in to inquire if they could give us an estimate. A month later, we sat down with Tony, the owner of Tim's Custom Cabinets and signed a contract for a major kitchen remodel. As it turned out, this remodel project took excruciatingly long to complete and was extremely disruptive to our daily life. The total cost: A lot of clams!
