Sunday 16th June 2024 – Day One of the new network – some teething problems but very good operation. Monday 17th June 2024 – first weekday of operation with good loadings to and from Blackpool North Railway Station tram plaza. Good operation with good comments from customers. T1: Starr Gate to Fleetwood via Promenade. T2: Starr Gate to Blackpool North Railway Station. T3: Fleetwood to Blackpool North Railway Station. On Monday 17th June 2024, we chatted to customers at North Station and just some of their comments are here:- • “This is brilliant! We now don’t have to walk all the way up Talbot Road to get the train to go shopping in Preston or Manchester”. • “I have just arrived from London on the Avanti and the tram goes straight to my hotel near the Pleasure Beach. All so professional.” • “Should never have got rid of the trams to Blackpool North Station all those years ago. But now, they have certainly made amends.” • “Will be nicer when it’s not a building site all around the posh new tram station. Not as if they’ve not had time to tarmac it.” • “This is so much easier when you are disabled like me. Straight off the tram, through the tunnel and into the station. Pity the station is such a dump”. • “Need some earlier trams from Cleveleys as my husband cannot commute on the tram.” The first trams at North Pier/Talbot Square on weekdays and Saturdays on the new timetable are as follows: T1 northbound: 05:19, 05:49; 06:19; 06:49 then every 30 minutes until 22:19; 22:49; 23:19.
