Kajal Sharma is an outstanding exponent of Kathak(Indian classical dance), a powerful and imaginative artist who displays breath-taking technique in both pure dance and abhinaya. She has been part of Kathak fraternity for the last 50 years .She is a disciple of Padma Vibushan Pandit Birju Maharaj. Kajal is a recipient of numerous national and international awards including the State Award by the UP Sangeet Natak Academy Lucknow. She has toured extensively and performed across various countries, such as Bulgaria, Japan, USA, Germany, Spain, Ukraine, Greece, Malaysia, Taiwan, Iraq, Libya, United Kingdom, Singapore, Thailand, Moldova, UAE, India, Reunion and Venezuela. Kajal has held the post of lecturer of the Performing Arts at Dayal Bagh University Agra and in West Cheshire collage, Chester for over 16 years. Kajal was the judge in the finals of Asian category in BBC British Young Dancers in 2017. She is the pioneer of Kathak in North Wales, North west and Wirral in UK. Presently she offers cultural workshops in schools, colleges, performing art centres, festivals and cultural events.
