My wheelchair friendly bathroom design: features, build and tour.

Many many hours went into the design and fine tuning of this bathroom. It was designed by an accessibility specialist architect but we also had to make it work for my particular needs. Fine tuning, exact measurements and heights of rails etc. If something is slightly out of reach it makes things very difficult with my limited muscle control. The people from Avail Design were champions. We couldn’t find a shower chair that suited because they were all too big or too high or too something. We contacted them and they said they would custom create one for us. Note that I forgot to mention about the toilet seat. Toilet seats often rise slightly at the back. This is bad for me as it tips my hips forward and I cannot sit up straight. We had difficulty picking a good one but got there in the end.
