Captured on the Mega SG/SD 2. Japan, Europe, and the US all feature very different box art. 3. In the ranking of the 16-bit Sonic titles, this one is my favorite. 4. This game was created by Naoto Ohshima, the man that designed Sonic and his enemies. Yuji Naka is often incorrectly credited with creating Sonic, but in his original work, the main protagonist was not defined. 5. Sonic 2 was started at roughly the same time as Sonic CD, yet was finished far sooner. 6. Sonic CD is the Sega CD's best selling game at over 1.5 million units. That meant it had a system attach rate of well over 50%. 7. This was originally meant to be an enhanced port of Sonic 2, but the team had their own vision of Sonic and wanted to do a very different game. While the director has said it is not a direct sequel to Sonic, it typically is considered a bridge between the first two games.
