The first app connected the two strangers - at the time, J1 lived near London, and A1 was three-hours north in Coventry. The second kickstarted their career. But let’s not neglect the skills that led to the viral explosion of “Latest Trends,” their breakout track. A1 found the chill-yet-bouncy instrumental on YouTube. (“Shoutout Show Beats - he produced the beat,” says Finn.) After weeks of trading ideas and getting to know each other, they delivered the vocals and teased a snippet on TikTok. “People were saying ‘Drop it, drop it… When’s this coming out?’ Then we drop it and it went crazy.” Their "Baby" follow-up furthers the duo’s yen for hooky guitar melodies and catchy refrains. The duo's chemistry sizzled under the spotlight of the DSCVR stage; if you didn’t know, you’d think they’d been mates since forever.
