Subscribe:    / @l2ds   Residential high-rise living room, dining room and loft in Unit 3 which was one of many residential units L2ds was asked to design in this new high-rise residential tower conversion. Although the tower was new it's original use was changed from commercial office space to luxury residential which is why the ceilings in this unit are unusually high. The floor to ceiling windows are another unusual feature not commonly found in residential projects. The living room space is comprised of a sitting area and a dining room space. The ceiling in this area is more than 5 meters high. We chose to treat the walls on either side with different materials with a textured wall covering on one side and timber on the other in an effort to make the space feel larger. Anodized metal trim serving as joint details between the panels and skirting. Dividing the sitting area of the living room and the dining table is a bench that can be used by either space as needed. Beyond the dining table there is a stair leads up to the loft space that sits on top of the kitchen. The loft space is conceived of as a study but also serves as a guest bedroom. An abundance of storage is also provided at the rear wall of the space in the form of floor to ceiling cabinets.
