Eyewitness Account: Altamont Concert Poster Obtained at 1969 Event by California Couple

The Rolling Stones 1969 Livermore, CA Altamont Festival Speedway Concert Poster. In our last auction, in April, Heritage ran our first-ever specimen of the famed Rolling Stones 1969 Altamont Speedway concert poster, and it realized $93,750. When a result like that reaches the public, it's not uncommon for someone else to step up rather quickly and say, "Hey, I've got one of those!" It so happens that not only did we land another Altamont poster after April's result, but much to our pleasure, it came from a couple who attended the ill-fated festival and acquired their poster from a man hired to put them up. And now, 55 years later, they've decided to part with it... given its robust reception by Heritage's vast collector base. So we're quite proud to not only present another copy of the orange version of the Stones Altamont poster (it was also made in yellow and two shades of green), but to also present the whole story of how David and Maddie Sadofski happened to get their treasure.
