Randall Stuart Newman (November 28, 1943) is an American singer-songwriter, arranger, composer and pianist who is known for his distinctive voice, satirical songwriting and composer of many film scores. Rider in the Rain" is a song from his 1977 album 'Little Criminals'. On many tracks of that album he is accompanied by members of the Eagles, also on 'Rider In The Rain'.
