Join me as I finally venture onto the Millennium 'Tidal' Ribble Link, along the River Douglas and River Ribble Estuary, then onto and along Savick Brook, which leads to the Lancaster Canal. In this episode, I receive a tasty gift, have a quick look around Tarleton and introduce a surprising extra crew member, for this voyage only. Soon we enter the lock and 'hook up' with another boat called Gnat and piloted by Jim, who is charged with the unenviable task of towing Aslan across the Ribble Link to Savick Brook. On the way I experience firsthand, the perils of speeding motorboatists, on our rivers and tidal estuaries. Later, we enter and negotiate the many bends and twists of Savick Brook. En-route, I have a heart-stopping moment, when I fear Aslan has suffered a catastrophic mechanical failure.
