How to explain Undifferentiated connective tissue disease (UCTD) to my family and friends

Short description This webinar is dedicated to explain, in a simple way, what it is and how to diagnose UCTD. It will allow us to reflect on the important psychological and social consequences of having a rare disease. In addition, the difficulties of family, friends and others to understand such disease will be taken into consideration. More info about UCTD can be found here: reconnet.ern-net.eu/disease-uctd/ Speakers are: - Prof. Luca Iaccarino is Associate Professor of Rheumatology at the University of Padova, Italy. He works at a Rheumatology referral centre that is highly regarded in Italy for the diagnosis and management of patients with systemic rheumatic diseases His expertise in the clinical management of rare and complex systemic rheumatic disease patients, and in the management and follow-up of pregnant patients with rheumatic autoimmune diseases is highly aknowledged. In the last years he has also gained high experience in the management of these patients with biotechnological drugs, on this regard he has coordinated nationwide registries on the use of these drugs. Professor Iaccarino has authored or co-authored about 120 highly acknowledged scientific publications, as well as having authored or co-authored over 200 proceedings/abstracts from national and international conferences. - ePAG Vera Guimarães, she is an MCTD patient since 28 years old, now 43. She is a clinical psychologist at Vila Franca de Xira hospital and EULAR Patient Research Partner. Moreover, she is an ePAG for MCTD in ERN ReCONNET, Patient Research Partner, member of Portuguese League against Rheumatism (LPCDR). She provides us the patient perspective living with chronic disease and epag experience.
