Roopkund (mystery lake) & Ali Bedni Bugyal trek in Uttarakhand are one of the most famous & adventurous & beautiful treks situated in high Himalayan region. Roopkund is famous for the skeletal remains of hundreds of people which are visible at this lake. These skeletons are said to be from the 9th or 10th century. There are a lot of stories and theories on how theses skeletons came here. It is believed that in 9th century, many people came here on pilgrimage. But due to bad weather and hailstorm, they buried here alive. I did my Brahmatal trek with a Trekking company 'Raftaar Adventure' which is based on Lohajung.
